Friday stitchers strut their stuff...

Judy E. sent her finished liberated ladies from Florida for the swap...aren't they beautiful?!?
Mary H. revealed her amazing scrappy log cabin quilt, made and machine quilted by herself.
Marilyn had an Easter finish...pieced and machine quilted by herself.  This was a quickie...she only picked out the fabrics for this a couple of weeks ago!
A customer finished this for the UFO challenge...Kathy and Barb held and admired it while a photo was taken.
Chris finished this much of her stitchery and was picking out borders.
Ola is experimenting with making fabric bowls...it is not quite finished.  Riley thinks it could also be a hat...
This could start a new Jackie Kennedy hat fad...

Who did I see at the shop...

Barb F. was pinning a newly finished quilt top in preparation for hand quilting.  My camera didn't take the best pictures...it is really a beautiful, bright 30's dresden plate with a crisp white background.
I'm sure she will be quilting on this at the next Friday morning sit & stitch gathering!!

More fun show and tell...

We had quite a nice show of quilts last Friday at our Friday morning Sit & Stitch!!  This is one of Cheryl's finishes done in teal and reds/pinks.
This is another finish by Cheryl (sorry about the fuzzy picture!).  It is so cute and bright.  She started with charm squares and added sashing for quite a nice little quilt!
This is one of Margit's two finishes.  It is called "My Ontario Garden" and is the result of an "Around the Block" project that we participated in a few years back.  The 11 people participating each picked a theme, then we all did blocks/pieces for each other as we passed our projects around in pizza boxes.  The tricky part came when we all got out blocks back and tried to lay out the top.  Margit and Teresa have finished and Kathy is very close with hers.  Who will be next??  Hmmmm...
Margit's other finish also involves blocks from the group.  A few years back we held a tiny 9-patch block swap for several months.  Margit used some of hers for this glorious scrappy house quilt.  It is totally delightful!
Here is what I did with my 9-patches...since there were slight variations in the 3-inch finished size, I decided to strip them, then cut at a wonky angle in a checkerboard pattern.
Ellen "wow-ed" us with her progress on this hexagon beauty.  From a distance it looks like a large format traditional grandmother's flower garden quilt, but on close inspection you can see the secret of its construction.
I grabbed a quick picture of what Kathy is quilting.  She gets the award for using every last bit of scraps in her delightful crumb quilts.  I hope to show this one finished very soon.
And finally, I have finished the Civil War Bride quilt top and brought it in to share.  I managed to get it layered and basted over the weekend, so now it is on with the hand quilting.

In stitches,
Teresa  :o)

Show and tell...in case you weren't there...

This is a music quilt made by Barb N. for her niece's high school graduation gift.  The back (unfortunately not pictured) is just as nice s the front!
Chris is finished with one of the UFO projects she registered with the store a few weeks ago.  This cutie is made up of wonky star blocks (also called maverick stars).  Well done Chris!!

Then we had a customer come in with the following stunning round quilt top.  She was shopping for a backing and we convinced her to join our show and tell.
Her paper piecing was stunning and her pressed, finished, completely flat top was a crowd pleaser.  Thank you, whoever you are!!

This week's liberated ladies...

As our liberated lady swap date gets closer and closer, we saw some more finished ladies this morning at sit and stitch.  These are from Margit...very nice and very well-dressed ladies!

Here are some from Mary Hogan...
Further motivation for getting to our goal.

Dear Teresa, and Girls Girls Girls ...

I L-O - V-E the new postings. These "ladies" are really coming along. I'm so excited. Just a few more weeks to go till April 1st.

Ellen :-)

Last Friday's show and tell...

Great quilt from Kathy...each block features a stripe fabric along with a companion.  She's just finishing up the binding.

Here's a Dresden plate quilt from Cheryl...ready to be quilted.
And here is a baby quilt made by Marilyn for a lucky baby featuring fabric from the Brown Bear line...
And one more quilt from Cheryl for a male member of her family...
Blog show and tell...almost as good as the real thing!!

In stitches,
Teresa  :o)

More liberated ladies for our exchange...

More liberated ladies!  These are Marilyn's girls, thus far.  Beautiful!  And here are some of Barb N.'s...

Those are fun...thanks to Marilyn and Barb N. for letting me post them to further motivate our swap group!!

In stitches,
